The Origin Story

Jason Bradley is an American songwriter and performer, hailing from Minneapolis, MN. Call it rock, grunge, or post-grunge; it’s served fresh with a twist of 90’s-era, Seattle sound. That’s what you can expect when you see Jason live whether playing his own music or covers of his favorite songs. Every show is high energy and full of heart.

Jason puts it this way, “Maybe you are like me. Music is your second… or possibly your first language. It understands you when others don’t. It is such an important part of your life, that you always have it playing or are singing to yourself. You have an insatiable need to not merely hear music, but hear a specific song or artist that inspires you, excites you, or commiserates with you. I understand this need. It’s in my DNA. To create is to be alive, and that drive to create music has never lessened.”

Jason Bradley was born and raised in northern Minnesota, where he fell in love with music at an early age. He spent hours pouring over the covers of both his mother’s and father’s record collections, captivated by each and every one of them. He’s always been fascinated by the making and performing of music. Jason played in a number of bands all throughout high school and college, taking every opportunity he could to hone his craft.

After the major earthquake in Haiti in 2010, Jason decided that he wantred to go and help. He only had one way to raise the money, and that was to put his guitar to work. He started playing acoustic cover shows full of 80’s and 90’s rock and roll music to raise money to get to Haiti and back. After he came back to the US, he decidied that he really wanted to keep doing the cover shows, and here we are all these years later, where he gets regular compliments about the quality of his voice and his unique song selection. He brings his energetic acoustic show to restaurants, breweries, and bars… wherever they will have him.

Some other interesting facts about Jason’s musical history:

After college, Jason moved to Minneapolis, and started a band with some friends called Carpetbomb. They won the famed New Union Midwest Band Tournament in 1999 that broke bands like PFR, Clear, and Big Fat Jam. They recorded one disc (Begin: CBCDEP) with local engineering hero Tom Herbers (The Church, Jayhawks, Low) and went on to share the stage with the likes of Jars of Clay, D.C. Talk, and Switchfoot.

After that, Jason started the high-energy rock band “Fastest Turbo Fire Engine”. They released two EPs, followed up by a full-length debut, Focus, engineered by Justin Korhonon (Halo Effect, Kid Dakota). They toured the Midwest, and played with bands like Cold, Quietdrive, and Journey.

He also toured with rock band, “Trout”, playing guitar, trumpet, and sharing singing duties. He released two albums with them: “Seasoned With Hunger” and “Genuine Imitation” and played at places like the MGM Grand and The House of Blues at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. They also played at  multiple venues in Austin, TX during the South By Southwest music festival. Back home, they played with bands like Alien Ant Farm and Hairball.

Jason teamed up with Rob Kerr (Vera Zero) to write and record the soundtrack to the short film “At the End of the Line”. He played and recorded all of the instruments himself in his home studio. The song “At the End of the Line” won awards from the Hudson Valley International Film Festival, The Back in the Box Competition, The Near Nazareth Festival, The Metropolitan Film Festival, and The Filmmatic Filmmaker Competition.

After a crazy 2020, where the world seemed to come off its moorings, Jason was inspired to write a new solo album called “Our Troubled Hearts”. He brought producer, Matt Patrick (Greycoats, Jason Gray) on board, and then guitarist Jasper Nephew (Owl City), bassist Ian Allison (Eric Hucherson and the Believers), and drummer Steve Goold (Owl City, Sarah Bareilles, and Matt Kearney). “Our Troubled Hearts” will be released in 2023, with singles already being released. He has no plans to slow down, just to keep making as much music as he can with whomever he can for as long as he is able.
